SACRED HEART ART CLUB (K3 – G2)

Course Description

Join the fun with SchoolTribe’s Art Club! Offered at International School of the Sacred Heart for currently enrolled students.

Art Club brings creativity and artistic challenges to students in K3 to 2nd grade. From ancient art to modernism, your budding artist will learn to use a wide range of materials and techniques as they develop a love of art. Participants will explore various materials and techniques, learn about different artists, and explore interesting themes through guided lessons and activities. This class is designed to improve fine motor skills, teach independence, build confidence, and help students make new friends as they develop a love of art. All of our classes are taught by long-time arts educators.

Materials and activities include:

  • Water color, tempera, acrylic, glue, scissors, crayons, color pencils
  • Learn about important artists including Yayoi Kusama, Paul Klee, Hundertwasser, Kandinsky, Thiebaud, Monet, and more
  • Technique development in watercolor resist, glue resist, Paper Mâche, blending, and weaving
  • Explore various themes including yarn monsters, fairy-tale portraits, pop art, prehistoric art, and forest animals
