What a Year It’s Been!

As we reflect on 2021, we are so grateful for all the new members of our tribe.

SchoolTribe expanded its offerings in 2021 to serve hundreds of students at multiple school sites throughout Tokyo. Our reach grew internationally as we added online classes and began teaching SchoolTribe curriculum to children all over the world. This process has been incredibly gratifying, and we extend a huge thank you to everyone who joined us on this journey.

After this fall’s semester of Science, STEAM, and Art Club activities, we’re looking forward to changing things up in 2022 as we refresh our offerings for the next semester and welcome new partners like Mathletics and Vineyard App. Spark Business Academy will return in the winter/spring semester with several exciting online courses aimed at inspiring creativity and a future-focused mindset.

Our new Typing Club will help kids work smarter and keep up with schoolwork that is increasingly performed on computers. Students can learn to finish homework in half the time by using a personalized system that allows them to progress at their own pace with instant accuracy and feedback after every lesson.

This spring’s online Aspiring Fashionistas program will offer lessons about the fashion industry and help students develop skills in fashion design, fashion marketing, fashion journalism and branding as they sketch, analyze trends, design articles of clothing and define their brand.

Our upcoming Career Launch class is a practical program for teens that lets them explore various careers and learn lessons about drafting an impactful resume, writing a compelling cover letter, prepping for interviews, and money management skills. This class is a must for teens seeking to take control of their future!

As always, we’ll be offering in-person classes at Nishimachi International School and the American School in Japan as we welcome our tribe of learners back for another semester.

We plan to continue our Weekend Workshop series—held at Nishimachi International School and open to students from all schools—beginning in January 2022.
