Dive into the world of investigation and discovery in SchoolTribe’s Forensic Science Club! This program explores how science helps solve mysteries through evidence analysis, teamwork, and critical thinking.
In SchoolTribe’s Forensics Afterschool Program, kids in grades 3-6 will dive into the thrilling world of crime scene investigation and forensic science. Through hands-on activities and real-world scenarios, students will become young detectives, learning how to collect, analyze, and interpret evidence to solve mysteries.
Here’s what your child will learn in our exciting program:
•Fingerprint Analysis: Understand the uniqueness of fingerprints and practice dusting, lifting, and matching prints like professional crime scene investigators.
•Crime Scene Basics: Learn how to observe a scene carefully, collect evidence methodically, and document findings to crack the case.
•Handwriting and Ink Analysis: Discover how forensic scientists identify handwriting patterns and use chromatography to uncover hidden clues in writing samples.
•Footprint and Shoeprint Examination: Analyze shoe impressions to track suspects and determine how footwear can tell a story.
•Mystery Powder Testing: Conduct chemical experiments to identify unknown substances found at “crime scenes.”
•DNA and Genetics (Simplified for Kids): Get an introduction to DNA basics and explore how it helps solve crimes, using fun, hands-on activities.
•Critical Thinking and Deduction: Develop logic and problem-solving skills by analyzing evidence and drawing conclusions like a real investigator.
•Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with peers to share ideas, theories, and strategies to solve complex cases together.
By the end of the program, your child will not only have learned fascinating scientific concepts but will also have developed critical thinking, observation, and analytical skills that will benefit them in and out of the classroom.
